Whenever a donor enters any designation other than unrestricted, it is AssetStream’s policy to contact the charitable donee for approval prior to initiating the securities transfer. This eliminates the potential for a gift that needs to be unwound.

We contact the charity because we are acting as agent for the charity, not the donor and the gift has been deemed irrevocable and can only be reversed by the charity.
