How AssetStream Works

Using the convenience of the Internet, donors (or their adviser or the charitable organization's staff) complete a simp­le online questionnaire that gathers information about the donor, the securities to be donated, and how they are owned. The system then automatically prepares a customized legal document the donor prints, signs, and sends by fax or mail to the AssetStream Gift Processing Center.

Acting as agent for the charity, AssetStream then transfers the securities, liquidates them, and transfers the net cash proceeds electronically to the charity’s bank account—all while the charity receives email progress alerts and monitors the process online in the same way they would track an overnight package. In addition, AssetStream values the securities and sends the donor an IRS approved tax receipt on the charity’s behalf.
